How to Make and Air Fry Homemade Biscuits
Prepare the Biscuit Dough
Pro Tip: The biscuit dough can be made several days ahead of baking.
Cook Biscuits in the Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 330°F. Allow it to heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Place all nine biscuits in the air fryer basket, in a single layer. Air fry for 11-12 minutes. If using a larger cutter to make 3-inch biscuits, air fry the biscuits for 13-14 minutes.
How to Air Fry Canned Biscuits
No time to make biscuit dough from scratch? Simply pop open a can of your fave store-bought biscuits, and air fry them golden in minutes! First, preheat the air fryer to 330°F. Allow it to heat for 3 to 5 minutes. If air frying traditional small canned biscuits set the air fryer on 6-7 minutes. If air frying larger grand-style biscuits, air fry for 9 – 10 minutes.

We love to smother scratch-made or canned biscuits in rich homemade Sausage Gravy for a hearty breakfast or brunch! They are also great to serve as a dippable side dish with soups and stews. Pair warm biscuits with bowls of Chicken Noodle Soup, Creamy Chicken and Rice Soup, Beef Stew, or Loaded Baked Potato Soup – just to name a few!
How do you make gluten-free biscuits?
Substitute all-purpose flour with your favorite GF-friendly baking alternative.
Can this recipe be doubled?
Yes, you can easily double or triple the recipe. However, air fry the biscuits in small batches so that they get perfectly crisp and golden.
How can I get my biscuits to rise higher?
The key to a high rise is to use cold cubed butter and keep the biscuit dough chilled. Also, take the time to preheat the air fryer for a full 3 to 5 minutes. A properly hot “oven” makes super fluffy biscuits!
How long do biscuits last?
Homemade or canned biscuits cooked in the air fryer will keep well for up to 5 days at room temperature. Store in an airtight container, and keep in a cool dry spot. They also freeze very well! Wrap each biscuit individually in plastic wrap, and store them together in a plastic zipper bag. Keep in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight, or on the countertop for an hour or so. Reheat in the air fryer or oven at 350°F for 3-5 minutes.
