Why We Love This Green Bean Recipe
Air frying is a fantastic way to prepare fresh vegetables as a healthy side dish for any midweek meal! Cooking with this wonder device is fast, simple, and easy to customize – plus, using the air fryer keeps the stove clear for cooking other dishes. You can use this Air Fryer Green Beans recipe to cook French-style thin green beans or traditional American green beans. Although of course, we think the fresh green beans taste best, you can even air fry frozen green beans! Either way, the fryer creates the perfect barely-cooked texture in less than 10 minutes, allowing the green beans to taste fresh. We’ve tossed the green beans in a little olive oil and seasoned them with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. However, feel free to experiment with all sorts of herbs and spices!

How to Make Air Fryer Green Beans
Preheat the air fryer to 380°F. Set out a large mixing bowl. Place washed and trimmed green beans in the bowl. Then drizzle olive oil over the top, followed by a sprinkling of garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss well to make sure the oil and seasoning have completely coated the green beans. Dump the green beans into the hot air fryer basket. Close and air fry for 5-6 minutes for thin French-style green beans. Make sure to shake the basket once halfway through cooking. Taste, then salt and pepper as needed.
Air Fryer Frozen Green Beans
There is no need to thaw frozen green beans before air frying! This recipe works just as well for frozen-cut and long beans. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F. Coat the beans in the olive oil and spice blend, and air fry for 8-10 minutes. Give the basket a shake at the 4-minute mark.
Serving Suggestions
Green beans are a classic veggie side dish, and pair well with nearly any main dish! And it’s super easy to use spices that “match” your protein. Pair well-seasoned air-fried green beans with super simple dishes like Smoked Chicken or Smoked Pork Tenderloin, Grilled Chicken or Grilled Salmon, or Baked Chicken Cutlets. Or enjoy them as a healthy balance to heavier comfort foods like Smothered Chicken, Steak Fingers with Country Gravy, or Chicken Fried Steak. Go elevated and serve alongside Steak Diane (a copycat of your favorite Cheesecake Factory recipe!), Steak au Poivre, or Lobster Ravioli with Lobster Sauce. Adjust the seasonings and serve the beans with Orange Chicken or Hunan Beef, Creamy Skillet Cajun Chicken and Pasta, Paneer Tikka Masala, or Pollo Asado (Mexican Grilled Chicken).

Tossed simply with olive oil, red pepper flakes and garlic, green beans in the air fryer become tender beautifully in a fraction of the time without heating the stovetop. Air Fryer Green Beans are one of my favourite side dishes. Reason:
so easy to make requires minimal oil vegan and gluten-free not much prep work involved ready in less than 20 minutes perfect side dish for busy days
In addition, this side dish can be easily personalized with your favourite spices and seasoning.
Ingredients Required
Fresh Green Beans: Use tender French green beans that are blemish-free, longer in size, and bright green. Fresh green beans should snap when broken in half. Garlic: I add garlic powder and finely minced garlic for that extra punch. Seasoning: Salt, Pepper, Red Paprika Powder, Chilli Flakes, Thyme Nuts: I sprinkle sliced almonds over green beans for crunchiness, nutritional benefits, and a nutty taste. You can sprinkle roasted sesame seeds, walnuts, pine nuts, or crushed peanuts. Olive Oil is required to make the seasoning stick to the green beans. Optional Ingredients: Parmesan Cheese, Oregano, Parsley
How To Make
Step 1) Wash green beans with water. Pat dry them with a clean kitchen towel. Step 2) Remove the tip of the beans using a knife. Cut them in half if they are too big. Step 3) Preheat the air fryer to 180-degree celsius. Step 4) Combine green beans, olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, thyme, and red paprika in a bowl. Mix to coat beans with the oil and seasoning. Step 5) Spread them evenly on a single layer in an air fryer basket. Air Fry for 5 minutes. Shaking them once or twice during the cooking process. Step 6) Transfer air fryer green beans to a serving bowl. Sprinkle chilli flakes and sliced almonds. Air Fryer Green Beans are ready to serve.
