Thanks to my husband who introduced me to the baking world. When I first started baking, I started with baking just one loaf to see how it turns out. And from adding warm water, allowing yeast to activate, kneading the dough was all new to me but learning it was so much fun. The next time I try the same bread recipe, I do it with some adjustments and increase it from one to two loaves. When you have such supportive partner and who appreciates anything you do, making trials, learning new things is not at all difficult.
The more and more I started baking, I realized why homemade bread is much better in taste, texture, quality than store bought. That is why you see so many bread recipes on my blog and to be honest bread recipes are the one that are most popular on my blog, tried and tested by my readers. So make sure you check out the recipes listed below.

2 cups Lukewarm Water 1 teaspoon Sugar 2 ¼ teaspoon Active dry yeast (1 packet) 4 ⅔ cups All purpose flour 2 teaspoon Salt Other Ingredients 1 tablespoon Butter (Can use oil for vegan version) 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds Step I
In a large bowl, add water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast. Cover and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes till yeast activates.
Step II
Add flour, salt and knead this for at least 5 minutes or until soft dough is formed. Transfer the dough to lightly greased bowl. Cover it and keep it in a warm place for about 2 hours or until doubled in size. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Shape them into balls pinching seam side down and you get a smooth round top. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper atleast 3 inches apart. Let it rest for about 30 to 40 minutes.
Step III
At this stage place a cast iron skillet at the bottom rack of an oven. Preheat the oven to 450 degree F. Apply butter and sprinkle sesame seeds. Score using sharp blade or knife. Transfer the artisan rolls to middle rack in the oven. Fill the cast iron skillet on the bottom rack with about ½ cup of ice cubes or water. The steam generated allows the bread to develop light and crispy crust. Bake for bout 30 minutes or until golden brown in color. Allow it to cool down completely before slicing. Artisan Bread is ready. Slice and serve with butter and enjoy.
