Vegetarian Caesar salad
This homemade classic Caesar salad recipe is simple and ready in less than 10 minutes. Serve it as a light meal, appetizer, or as a side with pasta or soups for lunch or dinner. Ingredients
Lettuce: Traditional and classic salad recipe uses romaine lettuce. You can use iceberg or mini artisan lettuce. Croutons: Homemade or store-bought croutons. I have used garlic-flavored croutons. Parmesan cheese: Shredded or Shaved. Caesar dressing: garlic minced, Worcestershire sauce, lemon, mustard, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Check out the recipe card for the full list of the ingredients.
How to make Caesar dressing?
Add minced garlic cloves, dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, pepper powder, and salt and whisk in a bowl. Drizzle oil and continue to whisk constantly. Taste check and adjust any seasoning.
How to make classic Caesar salad?
Wash the lettuce and roughly chop it into bite-sized pieces. Add the chopped lettuce, along with croutons and parmesan, to a mixing bowl. Drizzle the dressing as needed and toss until lettuce is coated. Transfer it to a serving plate. Garnish it with more parmesan if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy.
Tips
Adjust all ingredients to taste. Feel free to add grilled shrimp or chicken. I have used store-bought garlic croutons in this recipe. You can even make crotons at home with the French baguette.
What to serve with Caesar salad?
