Why We Love This Easy Peach Cobbler with Bisquick

It’s not summer in the South until the warm, gooey, sweet peach cobblers start showing up at the table. Potlucks, picnics, barbecues… Anytime family and friends are getting together, you’d better believe a comforting and share-worthy cobbler will be there as well. Cobblers are super simple to make and are terrific for customizing any number of ways. We’ve previously shared our slow cooker peach cobbler recipe, which is great to start in the morning and serve after dinner for dessert. However, our Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe is just as effortless and is, in fact, even easier to prepare than the crockpot version. Unlike the slow cooker recipe, the southern Peach Cobbler recipe we share here doesn’t include any apple butter or bourbon. Also, you can use your choice of fresh ripe peaches or frozen sliced peaches! But what makes this southern peach cobbler the BEST quick and easy recipe is it’s made with Bisquick baking mix. Since the baking mix already has most of what you need ready to use in one handy box, there are a total of only 6 ingredients in Bisquick Peach Cobbler. This foolproof Peach Cobbler Recipe with Bisquick is excellent to make ahead a day or two before you plan to serve, and leftovers are delicious to eat warm or cold. You can even freeze it to enjoy the taste of your favorite fresh summer peach dessert any time of the year!

Ingredients You Need

To make this a super simple 6-ingredient recipe, we suggest using a readymade spice blend, so you don’t have to pull out lots of individual spice jars. Here is everything needed to make a classic southern Peach Cobbler with Bisquick and only a handful of additional simple ingredients:

Sliced peaches – either fresh or frozen (peeled or not peeled) Granulated sugar – Sub light brown sugar or coconut sugar, but I do not recommend stevia or other sugar replacements Spice blend – your choice of either pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice blend (or simply add cinnamon) Original Bisquick Mix – for an extra delicious and super easy peach cobbler recipe Whole milk – low fat or fat free just won’t make the same wonderful texture Melted butter – unsalted

Pro Tip: I do not recommend using canned peaches because they don’t taste fresh and are overly sweet.

How to Make Bisquick Peach Cobbler

Instead of cooking all day, this “quick” and easy Peach Cobbler is ready to enjoy in just over an hour. That includes only 10 minutes of prep time, and then the dish simply bakes to perfection in the oven. To make the cobbler with frozen sliced peaches, keep the peaches frozen and dump them right into the baking dish. If you are using fresh peaches, first slice them into wedges and remove the pits. Place the peach slices in the pan, and sprinkle 1 cup sugar and the pumpkin pie spice over the peaches. Stir to coat the peaches, and then spread them out in an even layer. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the remaining 1 cup of sugar with the Bisquick and milk. Whisk well. Then whisk the melted butter into the Bisquick mixture. Pour the batter evenly over the top of the peach mixture. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for up to an hour. Check the cobbler after 40 minutes. If it starts to look dark on top, loosely cover it with aluminum foil and continue baking for another 10-20 minutes. When done, the top should be fully baked and golden brown. Allow the cobbler to cool for at least 15 minutes. Then spoon it into bowls and serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of fresh whipped cream..

Southern Peach Cobbler Serving Suggestions

The classic (and absolute best, IMO) way to serve homemade cobbler is with a generous scoop of Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream or whipped cream on top. Or both… It’s your cobbler after all – go crazy!

Tips & Tricks

Fresh peaches are best! Especially in the summertime, this fresh peach cobbler is absolutely amazing. You can even leave the peel on, if you don’t mind the texture! If using canned peaches, make sure to drain well! The excess moisture from canned peaches can cause the bisquick to be too soft. It can be difficult to know when your peach cobbler is done baking. Look for a golden brown color and bubbling peach mixture to know when it is done!
