Cheese tortellini
Try this pasta recipe prepared using store-bought cheese tortellini and marinara sauce for a quick and simple meal. You can make this dish ready in less than 20 minutes. The cheese tortellini is a blend of 3 different cheeses, making it rich and flavorful. Boiled and tossed with marinara, alfredo, or both is our family’s favorite. You can use it in soups such as tomato or minestrone, making it a filling meal. Also, if you have a bottle of pesto sauce, toss it with tortellini; it makes the best pasta salad.
Ingredients
Tortellini: I have used 3 cheese tortellini. Fresh, frozen, or refrigerated anything works. Sauce: Today, I have used Tuscan herb sauce. You can use any marinara pasta sauce, canned tomato sauce, or even pesto. Combine it with cream or alfredo to make this dish rich. Other ingredients: Add your favorite vegetables or meat for extra flavor. Check out the recipe card for the full list of the ingredients.
Step-by-step instructions
Cook the three cheese tortellini according to the package instructions. Drain them and keep them aside. Meanwhile, heat oil and butter in a non-stick pan. Add the onion and garlic cloves and saute for 6 - 8 minutes on medium flame until golden brown. Add the mushroom, green peas, and sweet corn and saute for another minute. Add marinara sauce, alfredo sauce, pepper powder, red chile powder, and dried basil leaves, mix well, and bring it to a boil. Add the cooked tortellini and toss till it’s well combined with the sauce. Garnish it with Parmesan and spring onions, and drizzle olive oil. Serve immediately and enjoy.
Tips
Always taste the sauce before adding it to the recipe. Vary the amount as per your taste. I have used Tuscan herb sauce from Barilla. Use your favorite brand. You can even use canned tomato sauce instead of marinara. The taste will vary accordingly. Add sausage, beef, or baby spinach if desired. To have the dish spicy, vary the amount of red chili powder or use red pepper flakes. Serve it with cesar salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. I have used canned mushrooms. If you have fresh mushrooms, add them and saute them for 2 to 3 minutes. It will enhance the taste.
