How to Make Choripan Argentino

Preheat the grill to medium heat while you prep the ingredients: Use a serrated knife to cut the baguettes into eight 6-7 inch sections. Then cut (butterfly) each baguette section down the middle so that it opens like a book. Brush the open baguette with olive oil. Next, make the chimichurri sauce: Place olive oil, parsley, whole garlic cloves, red wine vinegar, oregano, cumin, salt, and crushed red pepper in the bowl of a food processor to . Cover and purée until smooth. If the sauce seems a little thick try puréeing in another splash of olive oilI… It should be thick, but spreadable. Place the baguettes cut side down on the hot grill to toast the insides. You only need to grill them for about a minute to form grill marks. Look at the chorizo package. If the chorizo is fully cooked, place it on the grill for 5 to 6 minutes, flipping once. If the sausage is uncooked, place it on the grill for 10-12 minutes, flipping once.

How to Assemble Chorizo Sandwiches

Remove the sausages from the grill and move to a dish to cool for a few minutes. Meanwhile, spread the chimichurri sauce on the open toasted baguettes. Once the grilled chorizo sausage is cool to the touch, use a sharp knife to slice them lengthwise. Place two chorizo link halves on each baguette. Top the slices of sausage with chopped tomatoes. Close the baguette and serve Argentinian choripan immediately, or wrap each sandwich tightly in plastic wrap to enjoy later. Get the Complete (Printable!) Chorizo Argentino Sandwich Recipe Below.
