Fresh tomato juice - refreshing summer drink
Homemade tomato juice recipe is easy to make, tastier than the store-bought one, and cheaper. I love V8 tomato juice, but let me tell you, this homemade version tastes even better, you know the ingredients that go in. My little one loves drinking this. I like to have it chilled with ice cubes. You can add your favorite vodka, beer, rum, tequila, etc. Let us know your favorite way of drinking this tomato juice. Ingredients
Tomatoes: Fresh ripe tomatoes. You can even use tomato paste. For flavoring the tomato juice: The options are endless. From basic salt and pepper, feel free to add chilies, cayenne, celery salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin powder, ginger, lemon juice, and zest, and herbs like cilantro, parsley, mint, or basil. How to make tomato juice in a blender?
Add the tomatoes and celery to a large pot. Bring to a simmer and cook uncovered for 20 minutes or until the mixture becomes soupy. Let this cool completely. Transfer this to a blender and blend it to a smooth paste. Add this to a pot. Add water to get the desired juice consistency, along with salt, pepper, sugar, cumin powder, green chilies, ginger, lemon zest, lemon juice, and cilantro, and mix well. Taste check and adjust spices if needed. Refrigerate for atleast one hour so that the flavors are combined. Serve with ice cubes and enjoy.
Tips
Add the spices that you like. Based on the sweetness of the Tomato, you can adjust the sugar. The juice may thicken when you refrigerate. So, adjust the consistency by adding water. To make virgin bloody mary, simply add a dash of hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce to the tomato juice.
