I LOVE a recipe that feels like a treat, but is secretly fairly healthy and ridiculously simple to make. This Slow Cooker Noodles recipe is exactly that. YES! No need to reach for the takeaway menu this weekend. This latest recipe in my Slow Cooker collection is full of flavour, sticky-ish sauce and also veggies to add to the colour and crunch, as well as part of your five-a-day. As always, I’ve made sure the ingredients list is great value for money so it ticks the boxes for a family friendly midweek meal too. And the best thing of all – no need for browning. Just stick everything in and let it do its thing until it’s ready for the noodles!
✅ Tastes just like a takeaway ✅ A healthy meal that’s full of veggies ✅ Full of flavour and so simple to make Don’t worry, this can happen depending on the noodle brand and how much liquid they absorb as they cook. To thicken the sauce, once the noodles are cooked, just add 1 tbsp of cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp of water and stir through the dish. Yes, you can mix this up as much or as little as you like. Here I’ve used green pepper and sugar snap peas, but you can try whatever you prefer. Baby sweetcorn or mangetout are also good options. For this one I would definitely say the Lakeland Digital 6.5l Slow Cooker. Convenience is key, but then again, even slow cookers have to be filled and switched on! You could always get the ingredients ready the evening before, put everything in the slow cooker pan and store in the fridge overnight. In the morning, simply place in the slow cooker frame and switch on, or use this WiFi plug to switch on later in the day remotely!
