Enjoy it on baked goods, in dessert recipes, or however you usually use your favorite nut butters. It has a slightly green color, and tons of taste and texture. Pistachios – shelled, roasted, and salted Oil – nut oil, avocado oil, or vegetable oil Honey – or agave for a vegan option
Pro Tip: Roasted pistachios create the best flavor because they are roasted with a pinch of salt to bring out their distinct taste. However, you can use raw pistachios as well.
How to Make Pistachio Butter
Set out a large food processor and add the shelled roasted pistachios. Pulse to grind the pistachios into fine crumbs. Then add 5 tablespoons of oil and 2 tablespoons of honey to the ground nuts. Continue to grind/purée until the nut butter is very smooth. At this point, it will be VERY thick. You can add additional oil and honey to your desired taste and texture.
How to Use Pistachio Butter
I don’t blame you if you wind up devouring an entire batch with a spoon. But if you do want to enjoy it with other foods, here are a few ideas for what to do with crunchy pistachio butter:
