Soft caramel-filled chocolate truffles
Salted caramel-filled chocolate truffles are always a crowd-pleaser. Homemade ones taste even better. You need only four ingredients to make this fancy dessert - sugar, butter, cream, and chocolate. I have made these truffles festive-themed to give as gifts for the Christmas holidays. It is perfect for any special occasions like Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. The soft caramel or caramel sauce is first made and then filled in chocolate molds with the melted chocolate and chilled until set. Ingredients
Chocolate: You can use dark, semi-sweet, milk or white chocolate chips, morsels, or compound. Anything that your family loves. Butter: I have used salted butter. If using unsalted ones, then add a pinch of salt while making sauce. It also gives a rich and smooth texture. Heavy cream: Gives richness and creaminess to your truffles.

You can keep the melted chocolate bowl in hot water so that it doesn’t turn hard while you are filling the molds with caramel sauce. You can use molds of your favorite shape. We are giving these as Christmas gifts to our loved ones. If using unsalted butter, add a pinch of salt while making the caramel sauce. Store the truffle in an airtight container in the refrigerator for seven days. To prevent the sugar from crystalizing while making the caramel sauce, avoid stirring it until it turns light golden.
