Apparently, you’ve done this a time or two. Well, after going back and forth about the style and color of our new Shenandoah Cabinets, we decided the new ASP Kitchen will have Mission-style cabinetry in Maple Linen. Like these…

Best Color for Kitchen Cabinets

We always love painted and stained cabinetry as they are easy to clean and maintain. Although I love the dark espresso tones and ultra-modern door styles for this kitchen renovation, we felt the Mission Maple cabinetry was the most transitional. Plus, my kitchen doubles as a photography studio, so I need as much light bouncing around as possible. The “linen” white cabinets keep the kitchen light and airy, perfect for photography and lots of natural light during the day. Light-colored cabinetry also provides more freedom to play around with the colors of appliances, countertops, and backsplash tiles. I’ll save the glass and hardware choices for the big reveal. In the meantime, let me tell you about the Shenandoah Cabinetry experience.

Where to Find Shenandoah Cabinets

Shenandoah Cabinetry is sold exclusively at Lowe’s. So, after looking at all the options and ideas online, the easiest way to get started is to walk straight into the Lowe’s Kitchen Project Center. You will find a large display of Shenandoah Cabinetry samples with all the replacement doors, color variations, glass styles, and hardware to fit your personal style. That way, you can put your hands on them and see how they look close up. They also display Shenandoah Cabinetry mock kitchens, so you can oooooh and ahhhhh over the soft-close feature on the drawers and cabinet doors and see many of the storage solutions first-hand. When you’ve made up your mind about the style of Shenandoah Cabinetry you like best, you simply measure your kitchen (or have Lowe’s customer service department send someone to measure for you), then take your measurements back to the Kitchen Project Center. Lt. Dan used graph paper to draw out our current kitchen; isn’t he cute? He thought it would make it easier for the designer. The professional kitchen designers will work with you to make your dream kitchen come alive. They will find the absolute best configuration of base cabinets and upper cabinets so that they look gorgeous and have ample storage. They can also help you select placement for glass door cabinetry, special storage options, soft close drawers, and trim. When you are finished, you’ll have layouts and renderings of your new kitchen so you can show them to all your friends. It’s kind of like showing them baby pictures and wedding videos. They. Love. It. Once you place your order, BAM! A few weeks later, you have fabulous new Shenandoah Cabinetry at your doorstep, ready to install. This process is much less painful than you might think. In fact, it was actually a great experience.
