Ziti pasta recipe
Easy to make, simple pasta recipe without any marinara or pasta sauce for a quick dinner or lunch. I have used ziti pasta with peanuts, white beans, garlic cloves, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Serve this alone or with honey sriracha cauliflower, Asian chicken wings, etc.
Ingredients
Pasta: I have used ziti. Feel free to use any pasta of your choice.Roasted peanuts: If using regular peanuts, make sure you roast them for extra flavor.Beans: White beans, cannellini, kidney, or garbanzo anything will work.Sauces: Adds umami flavor to your pasta. Check out the recipe card for a full list of ingredients.
Step-by-step instructions
Cook the pasta according to package instructions and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan. Add the finely chopped garlic cloves, green chilies, and ginger and saute on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes or until it becomes aromatic. Add the peanuts and saute for one more minute. (If using unroasted ones, then roast them until they become light and aromatic). Add the tomatoes and saute till it becomes soft. Add the white beans, soya sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and salt to taste, mix well and cook until heated through. Add the ziti or cooked pasta and toss till everything is combined. Serve hot and enjoy.
Tips
Rinse and drain the canned beans to reduce the amount of sodium. You can add basil leaves to this recipe. Feel free to add sesame seeds and green onions for garnish. You can add chile sauce or sriracha sauce and soy sauce for a spicy Thai flavor. If worcestershire sauce is unavailable, add extra soy sauce. You can add veggies like mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, bell peppers, and snap peas for extra crunchiness.
