Who knew that Slow Cooker Salmon was even a thing?! Not me. It’s so packed with flavour but so, so simple. Simply pop the salmon on top of some baking paper inside your slow cooker, add in a little water, lemon and season well, and within 1-2 hours you’ve got delicious, moist salmon to tuck into. You can cook a whole side of salmon this way (depending on the size of your slow cooker), so it’s great for a party buffet or dinner party main course, or even as a fish dish at a barbecue.
Why you’ll love this Slow Cooker Salmon recipe
⭐️ So, so easy hands-off cooking
Easy Salmon Tacos {30 Minute Meal}
Smoked Salmon Pasta {10 Minute Meal}
Fresh Salmon Burgers {with Tzatziki Dressing}
Creamy Salmon Bake {with Potatoes & Broccoli}
⭐️ Healthy and fresh ⭐️ Perfect summery midweek meal or cooking for friends I tested this out and… OH MY GOODNESS IT WORKS! The beauty of cooking salmon in the slow cooker is that it’s not at risk of drying out like it could if you baked it. You won’t overcook it if you stick to the timings in the recipe. I also wanted to create a light summer-time dish that could be made without the oven (so no hot and sticky kitchen) AND meant we could make something that is hands-off and took care of itself as part of a bigger banquet, like a barbecue.
Slow Cooker Salmon Ingredients Notes
Salmon – Your piece of fish can be as big as your slow cooker will allow. For this recipe I have used 500g. You can use frozen salmon if you wish, but defrost it beforehand Water – We’re adding just 100ml to the slow cooker to allow that heat and steam to cook the fish without drying it out Lemons – Squeeze them for the juice and add slices to the top if you want for added flavour and appearance
In the freezer So long as this hasn’t been frozen and defrosted already, you can freeze this to enjoy another day. Yes, go ahead and use frozen if that’s the most convenient. Just remember to allow it to defrost thoroughly before you put it in the slow cooker. I love to serve this with a little sour cream, or sour cream or yoghurt mixed with fresh dill, lemon juice and salt and pepper.
