Brownie sundae
Brownies with ice cream are called by different names in different places. In America, a brownie served with ice cream, hot syrup, and ice cream is called a brownie sundae. In India, it is served on a hot sizzler plate and is called sizzler brownie, sizzling brownie, death by chocolate, hot fudge brownie, etc. All means the same. You can use fresh homemade brownies or store-bought brownies. I have shared a recipe for eggless brownies with nut butter or seed butter. You can check our classic peanut butter brownies and vegan chocolate brownies and use the same in this recipe. To make a sundae or brownie sizzler: Once the brownie is ready, place a brownie slice on a hot cast iron serving plate, top it with a scoop of ice cream, and garnish with chopped or sliced nuts of your choice and a generous drizzle of melted chocolate. As soon as the melted chocolate hits the hot cast iron plate, it sizzles and creates a festive atmosphere. The aroma of sizzling chocolate sauce will make you go crazy. So make sure you plate it just before you are ready to serve to impress your guests or your loved ones.
Ingredients
For eggless brownies
Butter: Salted or unsalted, both work fine. If using slated ones, skip the salt from the recipe. Sugar: Use regular white sugar. You can use ½ white and ½ brown. The color and texture will vary accordingly. Cocoa powder: Unsweetened one should be used. Milk: I have used whole milk. For a vegan version, use the dairy-free milk of your choice. Flour: Regular, plain, all-purpose flour for this recipe. Check out the recipe card for the full list of the ingredients.
Best eggless brownies ever
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease an eight or 9-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper and keep this aside. Add butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and coffee powder in a large microwave-safe bowl. Heat this for 30 seconds. Stir and heat for another 30 seconds or until butter is melted completely and well combined with other ingredients. Add vanilla, salt, and milk to this and stir until combined. Finally, add the flour and mix until combined. Do not overmix. Spread the brownie batter to the prepared baking pan. Add dollops of Sesame or nut butter and swirl them in the brownie batter using a knife. Bake for 32 to 35 minutes. The toothpick inserted will have some moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, remove it from the pan. Once it cools down, slice and serve as needed. These brownies remain fresh outside when stored in an airtight container for 4 to 5 days, a few weeks in the refrigerator, and several months in a freezer.
Sizzling brownie with ice cream
You will need a sizzler or fajita plate. Even a cast iron plate can be used for the same. Heat the sizzler plate on a high flame till it is hot. Pour 2 tablespoon of chocolate sauce on the plate. Now, place a slice of brownie at the center with a scoop of ice cream on top of it. Finally, drizzle more chocolate sauce and garnish with toasted Sesame and sliced almonds. Serve hot immediately, and enjoy.
