Why We Love A Sloe Gin Fizz
A classic Gin Fizz is a cocktail made with gin, fresh squeezed lemon juice, simple syrup, and club soda. (It can include an egg white to make the cocktail texture slightly frothy, but this is an optional add-in.) It is a light and refreshing beverage in its most traditional form. However, you can also make a vibrant Sloe Gin Fizz, combining regular gin and Sloe gin. Both versions of gin fizz can be served “up” in a Coupe or martini-style glass or “on the rocks” in a lowball rocks glass. And either variation is sure to please at any cocktail party, holiday gathering, or fun evening with friends!
What is Sloe Gin?
Sloe gin is a gin variety made with sloe berries, a common European berry, also sometimes called blackthorn. The berries give the gin a sweeter note, a bright, fruity essence, tartness, and bold color. This makes a sloe gin fizz a festive beverage for holiday parties!
