This is the 5th weekly meal plan I will be sharing on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, and so many of you asked for all of the info in one place, so here it is. Watch out for the videos of each recipe coming each night this week, so you can cook along. For reference, I shopped for this Meal Plan in May 2022 at Aldi and it cost £34.21.

Why use a weekly food planner?

⭐️ Knowing exactly what food to buy for avoids food waste, saving you money. ⭐️ Having a plan for dinner avoids the mental load of “what’s for dinner?” question every night. The printable shopping list can be found here. ➡️ Remove ingredients for any meals that you don’t want to cook. ➡️ The shopping list includes the cheapest version of each ingredient. Obviously if you want to buy lower fat mince or free range etc, that’s personal choice. ➡️ All of the recipes are to serve 4, so if you’re cooking for 2, simply halve the ingredients. ⭐️ Serve with the mini wraps, 100g of the grated cheese, the avocado, and some of the 200g of yoghurt. Dinner 2 ⭐️ Sometimes Aldi sell bags of ready chopped ‘casserole vegetables’, which include all of the veggies in this recipe ready-prepared and they are good value. Annoyingly they didn’t have them in stock at the time of my writing this, but if they do you could substitute for all of the vegetables and save yourself some chopping! ⭐️ You can use whatever combination of similar root vegetables you prefer. ⭐️ Use 700g of beef instead of the 1kg mentioned in the recipe (1kg is for 6 portions). You can also increase the spinach from the recipe if you like as you’ll have a larger bag. ⭐️ Replace the 200g of curry paste with 4 tsp of medium curry powder (as Aldi don’t sell paste). ⭐️ Serve with the poppadoms, rice, extra mango chutney and yoghurt on the side. Dinner 4 ⭐️ Double the recipe listed (as that’s only for two people). I used 2x 500g packs of courgettes and 1x aubergine for the doubled recipe (it should be 2x aubergines) but this was a cheaper way of having the same weight of vegetables and still tastes great. ⭐️ Serve with the bake-at-home baguettes. ⭐️ No notes on this one, apart from it’s my new shortcut and I actually think it tastes better than a traditional Tuna Pasta Bake – what do you think?!
